Fragrant white flowers appear in April and produce a heavy crop of black cherries in summer attractive to wildlife. The lustrous, green leaves turn a bright red and purple in autumn. Think of this plant as the groundcover form of our native sand cherry. Best in full sun to partial shade and tolerant of dry soils.
